“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.”
What a GREAT quote!!! It is so important that WE make ourselves happy. We can not rely on other people, things, or events to do this for us. If we do, what a mess WE create in our lives! One of the most powerful things that I have learned over the past few years is the only person I can control is ME! I have the power to be happy, healthy, fit, and make a difference OR I can be miserable, unhealthy, overweight, and waste the amazing gifts GOD has given me!
I will not sit here for a second and pretend that it is EASY to always make the right choices!! I know it’s tough to stay on track, eat well, exercise, etc. But… I will say that it is MY choice. I have the choice. If I make the wrong choices, those are still MY choices and I own them! That is why it is so important for me to always have some sort of GOAL in front of me that helps me stay accountable to myself and stay on track!
Goals for me are like presents throughout the year! I set them, hit them, and feel so amazing about my accomplishments! For me, I do find that I always need some sort of goal in place to continue to be successful! My current goal is simple to some, but big for me! I am heading to Vegas August 7th and have a smoking bikini that I have yet to wear! Now, I wear bikini’s all the time, BUT this one is different! It’s tiny and one that I would never wear to the neighborhood pool!!
Soooo…. my goal is to ROCK IT in Vegas!!!
Now, one other quick thing I have to note about goals, atleast for me, is that you have to rally support from those around you! For instance…. I would NEVER be able to reach my fitness goals if I wasn’t training with BJ at Full Throttle Fitness Systems! I know that eating right, and training with him each week will surely get me to Vegas hotter then ever!!
I also know that it crucial to have my family and friends behind me 110%! So many people think that when you are eating healthy, you are eating alone!! THAT IS NOT TRUE!! While you are making changes in your lifestyle, you should be implementing them with your spouse and children as well!!! That is the ONLY way to make the long term changes you need!
So, set YOUR goals! Whatever they are, pick what will help keep YOU accountable! Put reminders around the house, on your phone, in the bathroom! Remember to stay accountable to YOU!! You can only reach your goals if you throw out the excuses, and make the CHOICE to succeed!!
I would love to hear about your goals, and what you are doing to stay on track! I will be rooting you on!!
